My dad is about to retire from Job A as a full-time journalist to pursue freelancing (and also Job B, which is in journalism as well, but in a different medium). Er, he hasn't actually informed his boss of this decision yet; I'm anticipating fireworks. Anyway, this move is mostly because of pace. He want the flexibility to pursue bigger stories that take longer. And he wants to spend more time chopping cedar.

I somehow have not read Conspiracy of Kings yet, and there was much gnashing of teeth.
