One of my favorite storms in Denver area happened at the Colorado Renaissance Festival. It was a sunshower, so the rain came down and looked quite remarkably like golden coins showering from the heavens. (I'm just as glad they weren't, as the rain was far more delightful on the skin.)
I do think there's a bit of magic about rain, even if it's that real-world kind of magic that has nothing to do with super- and everything to do with natural. ;)
