Serenity 2?

alanajoliI can hear it now, even before you start reading: the groan that those Browncoats, who never give up hope of the impossible happening, are at it again. "You got your movie, people," I hear the skeptic say. "Isn't that enough for you? You already beat the odds!"
I was actually right with you there, not too long ago, bemoaning the fact that the show was done, and hey, at least we had a good run on Hollywood, despite lackluster box office sales. But then I saw this article (and several others), where fearless leader Joss Whedon says things like:
AVC: What do you think it would take to get another Serenity movie made?
JW: Profit. They're putting out the Collector's Edition DVD, because the DVD is selling so very well. That's something that maybe, some time from now, someone will look at the numbers and go, "Well, that was worth it. Let's do that again. Let's do it smaller, let's do it different." I'd do it on radio. As long as I could write dialogue for those actors, I'd be in a happy place.
Yes folks, he's encouraging the masses to go out and buy--and who can blame him? I'm just not cynical enough to think he'd market on our hope like that--not Joss Whedon, who himself was crushed when the series was canceled prematurely.
So this is my advertisement to you all. Even if you already have Serenity, go out and buy the collector's edition (which has shiny new features) and donate your old copy to your local library, to a friend who hasn't seen it yet--really, to anyone. Because you'll be helping the insanity of us Browncoats, who can't ever leave well enough alone.
