True Dungeon in the news

Just a quick note: Lydia Laurenson, fellow RPG contributor whom I've mentioned here on the blog before (and who invited me to work with her one year on True Dungeon) was quoted in a Wired article about True Dungeon. I also recently discovered that Lydia is among the contributors to Ransom: The Anthology, which (as I may have mentioned a time or two) is debuting at GenCon. Lydia will definitely be at GenCon this year (and I believe will be working True Dungeon again), so if you see her, definitely say hello (and have her sign a copy of the anthology for you).

I'm *SO* excited!!! I've never sold a short story before, and I've been trying and trying. But to have Sherwood Smith as my editor is just the best! *dies* I can't wait to read the other stories too! Sherwood says it's going to be an awesome issue! :D

Getting feedback from her was such a dream!

I'm also excited to hear more about the board of teens who helped select the stories. That's the kind of thing I'd have loved to have the opportunity to do as a teen myself. I kind of hope we get comments from them. :)

You know what happened to me? The teen board put my story aside to be passed on to Sherwood and it was never passed on. After you got your acceptance, I was like, drat, (not about your acceptance) because I hadn't heard back yet so figured I was rejected. Then just this Tuesday, Sherwood emailed me and explained the mixup and that they wanted my story. Yay!!! And you're right. Getting feedback from Sherwood was amazing! She is such a good editor. She advised me to add a part and take another part out, and when I did, the story was SO much better. Can't wait to read the whole issue! :D

Oh! I'm sorry to hear about the sad moments... but how lovely that they turned to joy! I agree--every comment Sherwood gave me was spot on, and I like it much better now than I did before.

*so anxious to see it go up!*
