Counting Hits and Exciting News

All right, lj experts. Does anyone know how to count how many hits your lj receives? If so, does that statistic include people who read your blog through their subscription?

Inquiring minds (mine) wants to know.

In exciting news, I just heard from the editors at t_e_o_p, and my short story "The Valley" made it through their first round of submissions! I'm not sure how many rounds they do, but I'm much encouraged.

As far as I know, you have to use a web service to count pages since LJ doesn't give you page access stats directly. Depending on how you do it, you could try to cheat, but you'll never get good access statistics for your LJ pages.
