I have always loved October. As a kid, I loved walking to school with the sound of leaves crunching under my feet. I loved the colors, the smell, the crisp feel in the air. Despite the fact that autumn is not known for being the start of things in my tradition (though I suppose I could start celebrating the new year on Rosh Hashana), autumn always felt like new beginnings to me. The experience of that energy in the air following a summer full of oppressive heat was like turning my brain on again for the first time in months, like remembering how to breathe after gasping for months.
It probably doesn't hurt that both my birthday and my favorite holiday are also in October.
This particular October, we're celebrating our work on Cowboys and Aliens: Worlds at War with a publicity drive. This likely means we'll be starting a livejournal community to talk about our work on the project (as the artists make their way over here). Please feel free to post us around on your blogs and help spread the publicity--we appreciate your visits to the comic as well!
